Dubia Ports World and Bush closer to Winning Over Congress

George W. Bush and Dubai Ports World are getting closer to getting Congress to allow this port sale to become a reality. The Bush administration is lobbying members of the Senate to come on board and embrace the sale of our ports to this Arab nation.

Make no mistake, this is putting an Arab country in charge of U.S. imports and exports. Dubai Ports World is a company run by the United Arab Emirates. It is not a company that answers to the public or shareholders, it answers to the UAE. It is run by their government and ultimately has to do what the UAE wants.

Senator Frist has already softened his stance over the weekend after meeting with Bush and his cronies. He is now not so sure that Congress needs to take action on the matter and that a 45 day investigation might be all that is needed after all. Do you remember Bush taking about becoming less dependent on the Middle East? How does this make us less dependent? It is a slap in the face to every American.

You will hear from the Bush administration that this is routine and just a business deal. To him it is, he is just looking at the financial end of the deal because it is all he knows. We did elect him knowing that he has a masters degree in business. We also knew that he knew very little when it came to foreign relations. What we didn't know was that he knew so little about common sense.
