Iraq: The Invasion, Mission Accomplished and Civil War

Pre-war intelligence said the war would be long and cost over $400 billion dollars. Bush dismissed this possible outcome. He was wrong.

U.S. troops take Baghdad and Bush flies in and says "Mission Accomplished" boy was he wrong.

More pre-war intelligence says that Iraq could be thrust into a civil war as a result of our invasion, Bush also dismissed this idea as well. Yet civil war is almost a reality now.

By his own admission, Bush does not do a lot of reading. He is just one of the guys and is good at judging people by being around them. This is fine if you are an average Joe, not if you are The President of the United States. As much as I hate to say it, George W. Bush is one of the dumbest presidents we have ever elected and by far the dumbest we ever re-elected. Having said that let me tell you that in a lot of ways he is probably smarter than me, but I am not standing up and saying I can lead this country.

George W. Bush is simply being a puppet president and signing off on what other people say. He is not being a leader. His actions come from his advisors that have failed him on occasion after occasion. If Bush paid more attention to what is going on in this country he would realize that it is time for him to stand on his own two feet, read and learn about the issues and then take charge of this nation like a president should be doing.

It has become front-page fodder that Bush has never signed a single veto in his entire six years as president. He runs the risk of becoming George "rubber stamp" Bush. I do not know if that is a legacy he wants to have, but it is fitting at this point.

George W. Bush is allowing his administration to run the Republican Party into the ground. This might at first look seem like a good thing for Democrats hoping to capitalize on this during the 2006 elections, but it is not a good thing for either party in 2006 or any year for the foreseeable future. There will come a time when someone has too right all the wrongs that Bush had caused. This has the potential to be a very painful process. Every time our country has gone to war in the past, Americans have had to make sacrifices. Not this war though. Bush has continued pushing tax breaks and tax cuts. I am not going to get into who benefited from them. The truth is that we have not sacrificed for this war yet. We have not had to feel the pains that come with war. The Bush administration continues to postpone inevitable as much as he possibly can. The only problem with this is that you can only put off this sacrifice, you can't eliminate it. It will probably happen when someone else is president and then the full effects of this administrations actions come to bear and Bush will be back in the private sector and nowhere around to accept the blame for his actions. The current administration will end up taking more than their fair share of the blame. This will end up hurting whichever party is in control at the time and could unjustly influence the future of this nation.
