George W. Bush turning Green?
Within the last couple weeks George W. Bush has started pushing a new agenda, well new to him at least. He is now advocating using more renewable energy as a means to break the grip that oil-rich nations have over America and to help make the environment cleaner.
Do you think that people will remember that during both his campaigns for president he was constantly ridiculing first Al Gore and then John Kerry for taking similar stances during their campaigns? It has taken over six years for him to finally come around. In other words had he listened to the majority of scientists back then, we would be six years further ahead than we are today.
The Bush administration has spent that last six years in denial and replacing scientists that favored or supported the same ideas that he is currently traveling around the country drumming up support for. Should we now praise him for getting his head out of the sand?
Maybe next year he will be willing to say that the Earth's temperature rising might have something to do with all the pollution in the air after all. Maybe he will or maybe he will still be saying that we need to research it more. My advice to Bush would be the cleaner the skies the cleaner our lungs will be. I dare him to try to say that the pollutants we breath in the air today are not shortening humans lifespan. I guess that's not enough proof to justify making some changes. If we all die a little younger more jobs will be available sooner and unemployment will stay low.
