Supreme Court to Rule on Late Term "Partial Birth" Abortion

Now that President Bush has two more conservative Supreme Court Justices on the bench the are going to address Late Term abortions. This whole mess really has nothing to do with late-term abortions though. It has everything to do with abortions in general.

There is only one reason that the Supreme Court has to look at this issue again anyways. It is simply because the supporters will not add a simple sentence to the "late-term" abortion bills they keep passing. Today I will add that sentence for them.
  • This procedure is only allowed if it is determined by a licensed medical doctor that carrying this pregnancy to full term would have significant negative health risks to the mother and/or the unborn child.
If they would add this one sentence to the laws they keep passing the laws would stand and ninety something percent of the "right to choose" advocates would support it. The anti-abortion supporters will not be happy with this though. The majority of them seem to want to have an outright ban on the procedure. They do not seem to understand that people will just go elsewhere to get an abortion. You may not remember when abortions were illegal in the past so let me tell you this, abortions still happened. It was like during prohibition when alcohol was made illegal, nobody drank anymore. Need I say more?

The two periods are similar, people drank bad alcohol and some people died because of it or became disabled. When abortions were illegal, women still got abortions they just used barbaric procedures that left some women dead, sterile or sickened due to infections. But with each of these the desired outcome was never realized.

I personally am against abortions except when it comes to rape victims, major retardation and medically necessary abortions. I am 100% against using abortion as a form of birth control. They have sterilization for that.
