Oil Companies Price Gouging

Four of the five last week reported a total of $29 billion in third-quarter profits - 52 percent more than last year. The largest of the group, Exxon Mobil Corp., recorded the biggest quarterly profit ($9.9 billion) and sales ($100.7 billion) of any publicly traded U.S. company ever.

Exxon profits up on high oil prices. Exxon Mobile recorded the largest corporate quarterly profit ever. They elect to spend more on advertising to make them look like the good guys.

BP profits soar on oil prices. Spends millions on advertising alternative energy, which accounts for .01 percent of their profits. Are you seeing a pattern?

Valero - Big first quarter equals soaring profits. Do you see price gouging yet?

Question: What the hell is our government doing to help this?

Answer: Lower quality regulations so it can be refined cheaper and giving military bases for refineries.

Why don't they set a price cap on oil? The higher the price the more money we give to foreign countries for less. I can figure this out, why cant Washington?

Rumor has it that Congress might actually look into oil pricing.
