Trickle Down Economics

Does this theory work?

I suppose that it could if executed properly. What happens if greed steps in and the trickle stops?

Another take on it could be: Even if it works, a trickle is still a trickle.

What is the best way to get from point A to B? I would say that a straight line would be the answer. The more points in between A and B allows more chances for the possibility of never reaching your intended destination.

These thoughts are derived from the a tax breaks and incentives that the Gov't. gives. I really wonder if the whole system if flawed and maybe a tax only on money spent would be better. It sore would make Gov't. smaller. All taxes would be automated through businesses and the IRS would be focused just on this system of tax reporting and they could have a smaller but more specialized work force.

Current IRS Stats:
For the 2004 fiscal year, the IRS will have a little more than 99,000 employees (full-time equivalent) and a budget of $10.185 billion.

What do you think?
