What is a conservative?

According to: http://www.answers.com

Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.

.................................I fit this description, just not as much. What do I do?

Answer: I guess I sit on the fence.

I fall between the lines on several issues.

  • Abortion: I generally oppose it, except for in extreme instances.
    1. Should a woman be forced to birth a child of rape?
    2. What if she will die or the child could die during birth?
    3. What if we say that it is only allowed if the woman was raped?
    4. Would women just say that someone raped them?
    5. What proof will they have to show to prove they were?
    6. Lie and accuse the father-to-be of rape because she changed her mind?
These issues have to be addressed before I could consider myself "Pro-Life"

Read My Lips, "No New Taxes" ---------Remember this line?

  • Taxes pay for things we need and use, don't they?
    1. Roads - Do you like potholes and things like that in the roads?
    2. Military - We need soldiers and they have to be taken care of. We have about 2000 dead in the war and over 15000 injured from the war on terror. WE have to pay for the wars and help our troops. All of this requires more money. Do we support our troops or tell them sorry I do not want to pay taxes to pay for your hardships.
    3. Food - The Gov't. inspects all our foods to keep us safe. We take this for granted but it costs money, and the costs go up when the employees get a raise. Should we deny them a raise? They work just like we do.
    4. Farmers, airlines, pharmaceuticals and the oil industry. We give these industries money all the time. Do they really need it? Which one could you do without? You see gas prices, they should be able to support themselves. You have filled prescriptions, do they need help? They all get our tax money, why?

      Simple Truth

Our country will raise taxes because we owe money. Right now we are borrowing money from countries like China and Japan, just to name a few. They are paying for our war. They are our banks. We are getting them rich right now. Paying Interest. Ask your financial advisor if it is good to pay interest, he'll say NO. We all know it is bad. Do you like your car loan, mortgage, or credit card bills? This is exactly what our country is feeling now, except Congress can raise our credit limit any time. What if you credit card company did that for you? Sure you could charge more, but you know you'll have to pay in the end. When you can't afford to make your payments anymore you can file for bankruptcy. Will our country file for bankruptcy or raise taxes to pay it's bills. I'll give you a hint, filing for bankruptcy requires you to give up what you have. In our country you can keep your house and car, sometimes. Will other countries be that nice or will they settle for a couple states in exchange for the debt. Maybe they will take Hawaii, Alaska, and the Louisiana Purchase. It costs too much to maintain anyways.
